NAACP Membership Types and Fees

  • Annual Adult: $30 (includes digital membership card).

  • Annual Youth: $10 (under age 20) or $15 (with Crisis magazine).

  • WIN (Women in the NAACP): $10 (requires current membership).

  • Prison Membership: $12.

  • Junior Life (Ages 13 & under): $100 (payable in $25 installments).

  • Bronze Life (Ages 14–20): $400 (payable in $80 installments).

  • Silver Life: $750 (payable in $75 installments).

  • Gold Life: $1,500 (payable in $150 installments).

  • Diamond Life: $2,500 (payable in $250 installments).

  • Corporate Membership: $5,000+ per year

Membership Structure and Benefits

  • Local Units: Members often join local branches, which must maintain at least 25 members to remain in compliance and meet growth goals to reach Silver, Gold, or Black status (120+ members).

  • Partnerships: The NAACP collaborates with various organizations to advance its mission, focusing on economic and political power.

  • Digital Access: Members receive digital cards, allowing for easier renewal and proof of membership. 

The NAACP is a 501(c)(4) organization, but it has a 501(c)(3) partner, the NAACP Empowerment Programs, which accepts tax-deductible donations.
