A Morning of Purpose, Partnership, and Progress at The Well Incubator

The NAACP Louisville Branch began early Saturday morning with a powerful blend of learning, collaboration, and community connection. Leaders from across the Branch—Executive Committee members, Committee Chairs, and dedicated volunteers—gathered for a professional development and organizational planning meeting designed to strengthen our internal structure and deepen our collective impact.

This session was not only productive—it was energizing, engaging, and a testament to the Branch’s commitment to excellence.

The Well Incubator: A Community Jewel

The Branch extends heartfelt gratitude to Kena Stith and her team for graciously hosting us at The Well Incubator, a space that embodies abundance, prosperity, and community uplift. Created and operated by SKS Accounting and Consulting Firm, The Well is a vital resource for Louisville’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, especially for Black-owned businesses.

The Well provides:

  • Collaborative coworking spaces

  • “Prep School” courses for early-stage business development

  • “Fellowship” programs offering strategic and technical education

  • Community-driven events that strengthen local networks

Gathering in this environment reminded us of the power of community-rooted institutions and the importance of supporting spaces that support us.

Strengthening Leadership and Organizational Excellence

The Professional Development Team delivered a session that was both entertaining and deeply informative. Leaders gained clarity on:

  • The revised organizational structure and distribution of leadership responsibilities

  • The role of Vice Presidents in coordinating committees and ensuring timely reporting

  • Expectations for monthly committee reports and improved communication

  • How local Branch work aligns with state, regional, and national NAACP structures

  • The process for developing policy positions and engaging in legislative advocacy

  • Strategies for activating volunteers and strengthening membership engagement

The session reinforced a shared commitment to transparency, accountability, and operational excellence—key ingredients for a strong and effective Branch.

Honoring Our Presenters and Support Team

The Branch proudly recognizes the presenters who led the session with clarity, passion, and purpose:

  • Dr. Bonnie Marshall

  • Rose Livingston

  • Dr. Michelle Patrick

Their facilitation brought the material to life and sparked meaningful dialogue among leaders.

We also extend sincere appreciation to Rawleigh Richardson, Sr., and Dr. Geneva Starks, whose behind-the-scenes support ensured a seamless experience for the facilitators and participants.

Gratitude for Our Leaders and Early-Morning Commitment

A special thank-you goes to every leader who showed up early on a Saturday morning to invest in the future of the Branch. Your dedication reflects the heart of our mission and the strength of our collective resolve.

We also honor the leadership of:

  • Raymond Burse, President of the NAACP Louisville Branch, whose steady guidance continues to move the organization forward

  • Raoul Cunningham, Past President and lifelong advocate, whose legacy of service remains foundational to our work

Their leadership—past and present—anchors the Branch in purpose, integrity, and community impact.

A Strong Branch Growing Stronger

Throughout the session, one message resonated clearly:

The NAACP Louisville Branch is strong, and through shared accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement, we will grow even stronger.

The Well Incubator provided the perfect backdrop for a morning of learning, laughter, and leadership—reminding us that progress is a collective effort and that our community is rich with resources that help us thrive.

The Branch looks forward to building on this momentum as we continue advancing civil rights, strengthening our organizational foundation, and serving the Louisville community with excellence.
