Your Voice. Your Vote. Your Future 2026.

As Election Day approaches, citizens across Louisville and Jefferson County are being called to do more than simply observe democracy. We are being called to participate. Voting is not only a right protected by the Constitution, but also one of the most powerful tools we have to shape our communities, influence public policy, and hold elected leaders accountable. The NAACP VOTER GUIDE ALL PAGES FINAL Version 2026 reminds voters that "your voice matters, and your vote is your power."

Throughout history, generations of Americans, including many civil rights advocates and community leaders, fought tirelessly to secure and protect the right to vote. Their sacrifices created opportunities for today's voters to influence decisions affecting education, public safety, housing, healthcare, economic development, and civil rights. When citizens choose not to vote, they give up the chance to help shape the direction of their neighborhoods, cities, states, and nation.

This year's election matters uniquely to Louisville voters. For the first time, candidates for Mayor and Metro Council will appear on the ballot without party labels, so voters must learn more about the individuals seeking office. Straight-party voting will not apply to these races, so voters must make intentional choices for mayoral, council, judicial, and school board candidates. The NAACP Louisville Branch developed its voter guide and educational resources to help voters navigate these important changes and make informed decisions.

An informed voter is an empowered voter. The NAACP VOTER GUIDE ALL PAGES FINAL Version 2026 provides information about local, state, and federal candidates, important issues, voter eligibility requirements, voter registration information, and mail-in ballot resources. Its purpose is not to tell people how to vote, but to encourage every eligible citizen to learn about the issues, evaluate the candidates, and participate fully in the democratic process.

Voting is about more than selecting candidates. It is about ensuring every community has representation and every voice has a chance to be heard. Whether your concerns center on public education, affordable housing, economic opportunity, neighborhood safety, healthcare access, or civil rights, elected officials make decisions that directly affect these issues. The people who show up at the ballot box shape those decisions.

For voters seeking flexibility, early voting opportunities provide a convenient option. The NAACP Louisville Branch encourages voters to cast their ballots early and, when possible, avoid Election Day delays.
